Are you a person that just takes it for what it is? Goes with the cards I was dealt kind of attitude?
OR
Do you really strive to make your life the one you dreamed of? The one where every morning you have a goal of making it better and better?
Let me tell you that there had been many times in my past where I lived with 'it's just how it is' attitude and everyday I was miserable! I felt as though my life had a purpose but there was no direction. The day that I woke up and decided to live for a purpose was the day I started enjoying the world I live in.
My husband, my kids, my family & friends, my work, my education...each and every one of those things held a new found value to me and I learned to appreciate them for what and who they are. Every day brings hurdles and before I attack those hurdles I think how do I really want to jump each and every one. Do I want to jump with a short stride just getting high enough to clear the hurdle or do I want to jump with a long stride clearing it with so much room that there's never a close call?
Before, I would have cleared it with a short stride but nowadays those strides are LONG and there's not that many close calls left. Once I started jumping farther and farther things became easier. Those daily hurdles seemed to get less and less but in actuality they didn't get less I just jumped less and cleared more hurdles with one jump. The way you manage a situation can make it easier or harder, it's all up to you on how to do it. But, I totally suggest you jump with a long stride and clear a few hurdles in one jump instead of spending all your energy hopping up and down constantly!
Book time with mommy. The Diary of a Worm...super cute!
Remember about playing football helmets? Well, here is football helmet playing in full blown action. This time an orange ring was found somewhere to assist in the game. You just chose your team and swap and chose your team and swap and so on. We played football helmets for hours this day! I always go for the Pats, Steelers, Saints & Vikings (gotta go with purple). Then I guard them for dear life since they always want mine!
I took down a few more decorations this week. My house was plastered with handprints and photos, snowflakes and cards. That's not a complaint, I loved the love! Here are a couple of my favorites!
Rudolph with Sutton's handprints and an angel with Sutton's handprints.
Snowflakes made by Chantzelor. I actually left these up. It's the kind of snow I like and they'll come down in February with my snowmen!
Totally asleep sitting on the floor in front of the couch. Why yes, of course it was 5 minutes before dinner was ready! He doesn't fall asleep at any other time!
Muffin making time! Testing out my new kitchen aid mixer! Chef Sutton was measuring out the cinnamon for the muffins!
BASEBALL...it's that time of year again, well, in CA it is because the temps are reaching the mid 70's and the flowers are starting to bloom again! Saturday was baseball try-outs for Chantz. While Sutton and I ventured down the street for a birthday party Chantzelor was knockin' em' out of da park! He's taking a step up this year and since he's younger than the required age he has to try out. It may be a year of playing with a real hardball and player pitching! I can't believe he's so big!
Way to go Chantz! May all of your biggest dreams come true!
These poses were his own thing. I said WAIT, I need to get a quick photo of you headed out and this is what I got. K tough man...bring it!
The week was spent getting back into the swing of things. After over two weeks away from our normal schedules it takes us at least a week to get back into it. So, it's been pretty much all a blur of course. Bookbags and papers, lunches and snacks, and out of pajamas by 7:30 am--GASP...everyday craziness which sums up the REAL life of a parent! Welcome back REAL life, I did kinda miss you and your ever livin' craziness!
And to top it all off we were practicing our hurdle jumping for 2011. So, how often do we exam our lives you may ask? Well, at least once a year for sure and that time is now...we're all about he resolutions. We've hauled out the microscope and are taking a very close look. I'll be sure to fill you in on how high we're jumping this year! The stars are the limits around this household...LITERALLY! Jump baby jump, as high and far as you possibly can because you're only here once!
