Chantz was in Arcadia Recreation All Sports camp this week with our neighbor Anthony. There were a few other kids there he knew from school and he seemed to have a great time. I was not so pleased though with how this camp was run safety wise and he will not be returning next year. Picking up my 7 year old child on the side of a busy street with the counselors on their cell phones does NOT meet my requirements for a place where I will leave my child. An apology from a Director would NOT be enough to suit me if my child was critically injured! Yup, no thanks!
MUD RUN FUN! On Saturday 8/21 I ran a mud run with the mom's group I'm part of here in Monrovia. My friend Gina (another great friend from the same group as Jen & Mary) ran the run with me. It was such a blast! 4 miles of mud & obstacles in as fast as you could go while my biggest fans cheered me on!

Romy is also training for the LA Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon in October. She was the one who convinced me to run it in the first place!
Trying to keep Gina motivated. She kept telling me to leave her and go but I refused and made her finish it at pace.
Officially finished in less than 50 minutes. That was our goal when we started!
After and in desperate need of a shower! I can't wait to do this again next year but I hope that LA can figure out how to make some proper mud. Sand with water dumped on it is NOT mud but does make for bloody and bruised knees during a mud run! That's gonna take some time to heal!
