9/26-10/2/2010

Last week was a non-happening type of week but not this one!  Welcome super duper fun, crazy week!

Let's see, it went a little like this...

Sunday the 26th I took Sutton to a birthday party while the rest of the gang was off to watch Chantz play football in Glendale. That night my dad's best bud from home came to the house for dinner. He unfortunately has been stuck in CA with an inoperable brain tumor since earlier in the year. Him and his wife were about to board a cruise when we went in for a quick check-up when they found it. I'm so very glad my dad was able to spend some time with him this week. I think he really needed a piece of home.

Chantzelor received an honor pin again!  He's starting his year in 2nd grade off on the right foot!  So proud of him!!!  I'm not sure why I can never get a photo of him with his award and the principle.  Every time (3 in total) I've taken this photo this is what it looks like.  No other photo ever looks like this to me and it's starting to freak me out a little bit. It was so special that Grammy and Grampy could be there to see him receive his honor pin.  My father was completely amazed on how well behaved the entire school was and how much control the teachers had.  It was pretty impressive, you could hear a pin drop!

Part of Chantz's homework for the month was that he had to cook/bake something.  So, he took the opportunity to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies with Grammy while I went outside and tried to take photos of the lightening! Totally not an easy task but I got one!

We bought Grampy and early birthday present from In N Out since he loved it so much!  His own t-shirt and coffee mug to remember his visit and to also tease his brother who is a huge I.N.O fan!

Off to the street fair on Friday night.  One of our favorite family things to do.  While we were there we went and had dinner at Jake's Roadhouse.  It was fun to be able to share our weekly traditions with my parents, even if my dad has to wear his white socks pulled up with his black shoes!  HA  Believe it or not there were a few more men sporting the same style.  Maybe I'm out of date, nah....doubt it!

Grammy and Grampy left on Saturday after we had a birthday party for Sutton.  I'm not going to post that in the weekly post because I think that's important enough to deserve it's own post!  We were all so sad to see them go.  It was nice to have such a special visit from home!  We hope they come back again soon!
