Today is my 31st birthday. Hard to believe that yet another year has come and gone. It really does make you stop for a moment and wonder why does time go so fast? What's the ultimate purpose here on this Earth? Whatever it may be don't forget to slow-down and soak it all in. There's a lot to be thankful for.
On another note this morning Scott got up and went to the gym with Sutton bc they had to 'do some errands' after they were done. LOL I really look forward to my birthday each year not for me but for the kids. They love getting mommy a cake and singing and picking out a special card to sign their names on. It's so fun to watch them be so proud of everything that they accomplish. So, Scott takes Sutton to the little Meringue Cafe Bakery downtown, which has the most amazing desserts that you've ever seen, to pick me out a couple pieces of cake. We didn't do a whole cake this year bc, well...we'd eat a whole cake and a couple slices were fine. Sutton picks me out the pieces with the oreos on the top (totally my child here all the way) and gets so mad at the guy behind the counter bc he puts it in a take-home container and not on a plate so Sutton can eat it right then and there. Scott explains that it's mommy's Happy Birthday cake and that relaxes him a little but then he insists that mommy needs juice to go with her cake. LOL
They get home and Scott goes to make Sutton his sandwich bc Sutton came right in the door and ran to his chair climbed up and buckled himself in. BUT...Sutton didn't want a sandwich and yogurt. Yup, he wanted CAKE. He could care less about if mommy was there or not, he just wanted the darn Happy Birthday cake. Needless to say he refused his lunch and went for a nap all ticked off bc he couldn't have the cake.
When he woke up crying from his nap I was back so I went in and got him. He instantly stopped crying and was close to hyperventilating trying to tell me he got me a Happy Birthday cake and he wanted to show me. He was jumping up and down he was so excited so I just said let's just do a Happy Birthday now, want to???? So, randomly at 3:30pm we sang Happy Birthday and blew out the candles. That poor child waited long enough for MY birthday.

Poor Sutty! He wanted that cake so darn badly he didn't care that it was your day! After all, he picked it out- so that made it about him. cute.
