One year ago, I married my best friend...

and no question about it, the day was the best day of our lives.  I can say if you had to label me it would not be in the traditional group, in fact, it would probably be on the total opposite side of the spectrum.  Our wedding was everything we had talked about & envisioned.  So fantastic that the day completely exceeded our the expectations of our wildest dreams.  Being married in an absolutely beautiful setting surrounded by only those that love you as much as you love them can be described in one word...MAGICAL.  Here's a photo look into our day when we said 'I do'.

Now a year later, I don't remember all the words my father spoke that day but I know it was hands down, the best toast someone has ever given.  Although the words are faded the feeling is still strong and the meaning of those words will stay with us forever.

Who else has the entertainment of entire Mexican fiesta from their reception balcony?

It's a special moment when you can dance with your children at your wedding.  To show them what it is to be surrounded by love and happiness is something that I hope is deeply embedded in their minds for years to come.

When your brother-in-law can bend like gumby or one of your best friends falls and you just stand and laugh at her during a limbo extravaganza on the balcony in a country far away from your home, you know you're having the time of your lives.

When the night magically turns the men back into kids and the women into dancing queens you know the best is still yet to come!

SO...today, we celebrate!!!! We celebrate not only for our special day but we celebrate Love and Marriage all around. There's not a script for marriage, there's not a Do or Don't list, there's not a book to turn to for guidance, there's nothing but honesty and trust. Relationships aren't peachy all the time. Hell, sometimes I feel as though I'd like to sign the surrender treaty, hold up my white flag and walk the other direction but I don't. Marriage is a challenge, a very tricky balance of give and take. A challenge that we signed up for a year ago and are still on board with. We personally get to challenge ourselves each and every day...how awesome is that?!?!

Glen & Myndi were sadly missed at this special reunion in Monrovia CA.  They were busy nursing Ty back to good health.
